Crans Montana Plaine-Morte Glacier

A day trip by car from Leukerbad to Crans-Montana to see the Plaine Morte Glacier is doable and offers breathtaking panoramas, but plan the drive (approx. 1 hour) and especially the gondola ride ( from Crans-Montana to the glacier) as well as time for activities (hiking, enjoying the scenery) well; the glacier itself is flat, thick and offers a 360° view, but the infrastructure (restaurants, cross-country ski trails) is better in winter, while the summer gondola belongs to the « Glacier 3000 » and has a lot to offer, so it's a great day trip with great views from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc.
